Survivor Kaoh Rong Episode 2 Review

Come on in guys for my Survivor Kaoh Rong Episode 2 review where I use classic Survivor quotes to assess the latest episode.

We had another episode foreshadowing everyone’s imminent demise. Jason’s sunburn, Liz’s dehydration, Joe’s…oldness. Seriously I feel like I should’ve done a weekly med-evac rankings list like my weekly The Walking Dead Death Rankings.

Alright, find a clue, then find a box and then climb a tree and grab a key and then do a happy dance and then open the box to read what I have to say about this week’s episode. Or just click below. Whatever works. Oh and much like Debbie’s cats there are about 40 spoilers below.

I can get loud too! WHAT THE F***? (AKA the quote(s) of the week)

Jenny: “What’s the one thing you want to do in Survivor?”

Alecia: “Be honest?”

Jenny: “Nooo!” (eye roll)

Alecia: “Win challenges?”

Jenny: “Nooo!”

Hey look Jenny those are perfectly good answers for the current phase of the game. You’re on a tribe so yes you want people to believe you are honest. And yes you want to win challenges so you don’t have to go to tribal! Either way I want to see these two play some game shows together. Pyramid, Family Feud, anything. Make it happen CBS!

Oh my god these guys are so dumb! (AKA this episode’s worst decision)

I mean, do I even have to? Look I understand that we don’t see everything that happens on the show but Jenny was made out to be a damn fool. I understand that she was just trying to listen to Alecia out of kindness and I understand that you should explore your options. But here’s the thing, you said it yourself, Alecia is on the bottom of the tribe! What good is going to come out of talking with her? You aren’t in the jury phase of the game so you don’t need to worry about pissing her off. She isn’t a mental giant in the challenges so you don’t need her to stop the losing. Plus she annoys everyone and probably isn’t a great ally to team up with. This is a case of, just let the world come to you and stop trying to do too much. There are times for big moves in the game and this was not one of them.

I’ve been bamboozled (AKA what surprised me this episode)

I was pretty taken aback by how Joe was treating Liz on the Brains tribe. We don’t know much about either of these two so it just felt really weird. I guess the editors are setting us up for a Joe and Liz battle over control of the tribe. If so, Joe came off as an overly aggressive player while Liz was portrayed as vulnerable and logical. My guess is that Liz overcomes Papa Joe’s aggressive behavior and beats him out.

Who is this jackass? (AKA who has no shot to win and why?)

Last week I felt like there were multiple people who had a shot to win. This week I feel the exact opposite. Papa Joe snapped at Thirsty Liz, Beauty Nick disappeared, Jason continues to be abrasive towards Alecia, and Debbie is Debbie.

Last week I stated that Jason was running the show. That might be true but I think he is doing a pretty poor job of it. Not only is he being rude to Alecia but he is also keeping her around. It would be one thing if he was burning the bridge with her and then booting her out of the game. Instead he is treating her poorly and giving her another shot. How sweet would it be if sweet ol’ “dumb blondie” came back to bite Jason in the butt? This is a social game after all, you can’t mistreat people and expect them to help you down the line.

Stick to the plan (AKA who is in a good position if they just stick to the plan?)

The entire Beauty tribe. Right now their plan is to win challenges and to build trust. Which is exactly what Alecia told Jenny! With the Brawn diminished to four and the Brains divided, the Beauty tribe is in a beautiful spot to control this whole game. As long as they keep winning and they get a little luck with tribe swaps.

This is my island (AKA who is running the show)

Well in Beauty we are led to believe that Anna and the girls are in control. Meanwhile the Brains seem to be satisfied with booting Debbie even if no alliance is really formed. And in Brawn it is definitely the dynamic duo of Scot and Jason.

But I believe that Cydney is behind the scenes pulling a lot of the strings. She never seemed into the all girls alliance and I would bet she informed Scot and Jason what was going on. Plus with Alecia still at the bottom that leaves Cydney in a strong three person alliance with two huge targets in Scot and Jason. As weird as it sounds it feels like Cydney is in control of the game at this point.

FORGET YOU. GO HOME. GOODBYE (AKA my last words for the fallen Survivor)

Jenny you suffered throw an ear worm and you are now suffering through the embarrassment of your exit. You aren’t the sole Survivor but you survived a lot and you might just be the most memorable second boot of all time. That’s something right?
